Raised in my parent’s restaurant on a main highway in Pennsylvania, I didn’t have the typical childhood. Without friends to run around with on a regular basis, I started writing at the age of nine. It became an obsession and wouldn’t let go. As the years went by, I developed my craft by freelancing and writing articles for local newspapers. In 2000 I started college to get my degree in Journalism. Unfortunately, I had to drop out due to a strong struggle in the required math classes. Life went on.
It wasn’t until January of 2014 that I decided to get serious about my writing. I saw a story about author Jasinda Wilder and how she got her start in self-publishing. The fire was lit. That same year I took a Freelance Writing course from Penn Foster Career School. I also started putting together my first book of poetry. In March of 2015 I published Lithium Dreams And Melancholy Sunrise. My second book of poetry, The Safety Of Objects followed in April. My first children’s book, Don’t Eat Your Boogers (You’ll Turn Green) was released last November. I’m currently working on my first novel.
In addition to my Freelancing Certificate, I also have my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. In January I started my freelance writing business, Freelance By Lowrance. You can find more information about that at my web site www.FreelanceByLowrance.com.
When I am not writing, I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends and doting on my pets. I have a wonderful husband, a one eyed cat named Colin and a rabbit who thinks she’s a diva named Abbey. I love to cook and bake and am a self-proclaimed chocoholic and pastaholic. Don’t be surprised if you see a recipe or two on my blog sometime soon. I also love a good cup of coffee. Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoy my site!
