Valentine’s Day is coming, and it’s time to start thinking about different crafts to do with your class. Instead of making traditional crafts like construction paper hearts and cupids, here are some creative ideas that your class will love.
Valentine’s Day Crafts for Your Classroom
Heart Crayons-Place the crayons you want to use in a bowl of water and soak them overnight. Drain them in the morning and let your kids peel off the wrappers and break them into pieces. Spray a heart shaped silicone mold with cooking spray and let the kids fill each cavity halfway with crayons. Bake at 300 degrees for ten minutes, swirl the colors with a toothpick and let them cool. Once cooled, pop them out and let your kids color with them.
Conversation Heart Collage– Buy different sizes of conversation hearts and let your kids glue them onto card stock.
Emoji Hearts-Cut out large yellow hearts and let your kids add their favorite emoji face.
Valentine Color Fingerpainting-Let your kid’s finger paint with red, pink, and purple paint.
Valentine’s Day Chain-Using purple, red, white, and pink construction paper, make a chain to decorate your classroom.

Handprint Bouquet– Using Valentine’s Day colors, paint the kid’s hands and use the prints as the flower on a piece of cardstock. Add green pipe cleaners as stems. Add the caption, “My Heart Grows For You Every Day.”
Coffee Filter Heart-Cut coffee filters into heart shapes and let your kids color them with markers. Using a spray bottle, spritz with water and make the colors bleed. Let dry and then use them to decorate either your bulletin board or your classroom door.
With a little planning, these crafts are bound to bring smiles to your classroom. Have fun and happy creating.
