Interview With The Author: Kristy Phillips. Today in my Interview With The Author series, I am featuring my friend and fellow author, Kristy Phillips. Kristy is an amazing woman of God who has written an amazing book about growing closer to the Lord called Everlasting Life. In today’s interview she will be sharing more about her journey as an author.
How long have you been writing?
Where do you get your ideas?
Every day life. Personal experiences and being a part in others’ lives. The ideas then form my writing led by the Holy Spirit.
What is your writing background?
So far, one published book titled “Everlasting Life.”
What was the process of writing Everlasting Life like?
The process was one of the most amazing experiences I’ve had. The words just flowed onto the paper. I wrote God’s words; what He spoke, I wrote. It was easy to compose, but the process itself of writing, typing, editing, and publishing took a lot of time.
What is the message you hope people will receive from it?
I want people to understand how much God loves them, and the reason for Jesus. I did not have a clear understanding for the majority of my life, and I’m hoping people will be educated about the intimacy we can have with God through the Holy Spirit in this book. The spiritual process is a journey of growing, not one that focuses on God being a harsh Judge.
When you’re not writing, how do you spend your time?
Family, friends, Health & Fitness: Running my Wellness business, Kickstart Fitness for Women, enjoying my own workouts, and teaching others about body, mind, spirit wellness. Also, doing artwork, Church & time with God.
What is your next book about?
It’s about Healing. Titled “Healing, the Aftermath”
What are some of your favorite books?
Joyce Meyer, Battlefield of the Mind.
Mark Batterson, Not a Fan.
What are you reading currently?
Steven Furtick, Unqualified.
Who are some of your favorite authors?
Joyce Meyer, Mark Batterson, Christine Caine.
What advice do you have for other authors?
If you feel you have a strong message on your heart, people need what you have to say. Don’t keep putting off the writing. Sit down and let it flow. Don’t overthink what you’re putting on paper. Get the thoughts out and go back and revamp later. All things are possible with God, so pursue your dreams and pray through.
