Carrie Lowrance
Hi, all. I’m Carrie.
I have been writing since I was nine years old. English composition was my favorite class in school. I didn’t live near my friends growing up, so I would spend a lot of time in my room writing. In junior high, I apprenticed for our local newspaper. Then, in college, I wrote for our campus paper and wrote articles on various websites throughout my writing career.
As a former daycare teacher, I also have my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. However, it wasn’t until 2015 that I started my professional author career. I wasn’t sure where to start. I knew I wanted to publish a book, but I wasn’t sure how I was going to go about it.
On January 1, 2014, I saw a segment on CBS This Morning about an author named Jasinda Wilder who published her first book on the platform Smashwords. I was shocked because I did not know of self-publishing. That day, I promised myself that I would publish my first book a year later.
It was a bit of a learning curve, but a year and four months later; I published my first book of poetry, Lithium Dreams And Melancholy Sunrise. My second book of poetry, The Safety Of Objects, and my first children’s book, Don’t Eat Your Boogers (You’ll Turn Green), followed the same year.
In 2017, I published my third book of poetry, Shadow Of Soul and, in 2018, I published my second children’s book, Brock’s Bad Temper (And The Time Machine).
In 2022, I published the first book in my clean and wholesome romance Steele Family Saga series, Someone To Catch My Teardrops. Then in 2023 I published my the second book in the series, Belonging Season, and my third children’s book, My Miles and Me. I am writing book three of my clean and wholesome romance series, to be released later this year.
My latest release, Belonging Season, is about a broken man who leaves his abusive family and strikes out on his own, longing to find somewhere to belong. Soon things go wrong and he finds himself reaching out to the only person he has left, the woman he abandoned via an online friendship months ago.
I also love to read. Some of my favorite authors are Debbie Macomber, Karen Kingsbury, and Jessie Gussman.
Some of my favorite books include The Blossom Street series by Debbie Macomber, The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, Redemption by Karen Kingsbury and Jessie Gussman’s North Dakota Series.
When I’m not writing, I love to cook and bake. I also enjoy connecting online with my long-distance friends and spending time in both chain bookstores and used bookstores. I enjoy spending time with my husband and our sweet cat, Cupcake. Chocolate and pasta are the “perfect” foods. I can’t live without either and I love a good romance or romantic comedy movie.
